Moving day will be sad and happy for Animal Friends of the Valleys
PE - For Animal Friends of the Valleys, comparing its current shelter in Lake Elsinore to the new shelter in Wildomar will be as different as night and day. The new shelter under construction on Mission Trail will be a 32,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. It will replace several mobile homes and outdoor kennels, storage and work areas at the Bastron Street shelter.

Perris, Menifee, Canyon Lake police host community event
PE - The Perris, Canyon Lake and Menifee police departments are hosting their National Night Out event from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Perris City Hall campus, 101 N. D St. The event will feature K-9 demonstrations, a dunk tank and displays by the dive team, SWAT team, bomb team and Perris Mounted Posse. Guests can also join in games, giveaways and free food.

Transportation group starts Southwest chapter
PE - A group aimed at advancing the use of public transportation in Riverside County has opened a chapter in the region. The Southwest County chapter of Transportation NOW represents residents and officials in Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Wildomar and Canyon Lake. It has more than 20 members, including public officials.
