Wildomar resident Gerard Ste. Marie sued in 2008 claiming County decision to provide partial funding for new cities was unconstitutional. Appellate court decides in his favor. Future funding for the Cities of Wildomar and Menifee is now in jeopardy.

This decision coupled with Ste. Marie associate Steve Beutz's recent favorable appellate court decision has placed the future of the City of Wildomar in a most precarious financial position. The combined negative affect on Wildomar's budget is estimated will be nearly $450,000. With reserves of just over $1 million in the just approved budget for 2010-2011 the City will be severely cash strapped.

Ste. Marie and Beutz are long time cityhood opponents and have mounted numerous challenges against the County of Riverside and the City of Wildomar.

Who Is This Guy?

Who is this person that is trying to cripple his own City with a frivolous lawsuit? I'm not an attorney, but I would like to know what is His standing in this case? How is he an injured party? The last time I checked, I and every other Property Owner in Wildomar pays PROPERTY TAXES that goes TO THE COUNTY. Why can we not have a Portion of that money put to work in our own City?

Wildomar currently does not have the Infrastructure Development that other surrounding cities have. We need road improvements, storm drains, sidewalks, street lights, parks and other improvements that will stop the slide of property values (and TAX REVENUES) and attract Developers and Businesses to the City.

I hope our City Council will FIGHT this destructive lawsuit and FIGHT for our City.

Tantrums
I''d just like to point out that whether there were mistakes made in the fee process, whether they were right or wrong, it was a small and piddling thing for these gentlemen to go after, in what seems to me like nothing but spite. They didn''t get their way when Wildomar became a city, and now they will try anything to get some control back. Well, congrats, boys. All you succeeded in doing, besides I''m sure feeling self-righteous and justified,is depriving the kids in Wildomar of parks yet again. Wildomar is a city now, whether you like it or not, and perhaps if you want nothing better than to try and run it into the ground, you should think about a nice quiet one-horse town somewhere else, where they don''t bother you with things like change.
